Pre-Purchase Inspection

The purpose of a Pre-Purchase inspection is validating the implied condition of the vessel given by the seller. When purchasing a second-hand vessel, it is important to ascertain the condition prior to completion of the sales process. Due to the complex nature of vessels, it is often easy to overlook defects, non-approved repairs, or failing / failed equipment, which is why it is vital to choose a supplier with extensive experience carrying out pre-purchase inspections.

We have been carrying out thorough pre-purchase inspections for more than 15 years, so you can be confident that our report offers an accurate overview of the vessel’s condition.

The inspection would normally cover items below, though the scope can be tailored to the requirements of the client:

  • Vessel’s Statutory Certificates
  • Vessel’s Machinery Spaces and Planned Maintenance System for Outstanding Items
  • Oil Samples of Main Engines and Aux Engines (Other Samples by Request)
  • Fuel Sampling (by Request)
  • General Equipment Functionality Checks
  • Vessel Coating Condition (Above Water)
  • General Vessel Condition Internally
  • Vessel’s Cargo Spaces/Deck Areas
  • Structural Condition
  • We also offer Out of Water inspections and Sea Trials inspections by request
